March is reading month! Hopefully, you heard all about the amazing author visit last week. Books by Marc Tyler Nobleman are still available through this week if you'd like to order. They are also available at Forever Books.  Students will start listening to books and voting for their favorites this week. We will narrow it down to our favorite book of the collection by the end of the month! 

Just a reminder that recorder forms were sent home this week and are due by Friday, March 18th. Students are able to rent a recorder if they prefer. Ms. Mac is hoping to put on a little outdoor concert for the rest of the school at the end of the year!

The field trips we will be taking this spring are listed below. We will need chaperones for Lansing and the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, so I wanted to make sure there was enough time for those interested to request time off work in advance. The Lansing trip lasts all day, but the Kalamazoo Valley Museum trip is only in the morning. More information will be coming as we get closer!

                                                      Thank you so much for a fabulous year! This is such a great group of kids and I feel so blessed to have been a part of their educational journies. Since my daughter is in this class, I very so fortunate to be able to see them grow even more in the future. Have a great summer! The Health Presentation form was due by Friday, May 27th. If the form isn't turned in, your child won't be able to attend. The presentation will be on Monday, June 6th. The girls' group will go from 9-9:30 and the boys' group will go from 10-10:30.   Kiwanis Park :  Tuesday, June 7th from 9:30-12:00! We will leave at 9:30 and be back by lunchtime.                                                             Just a reminder, if you would like to join us as a  chaperone  for the trip to Lansing, please turn in this paperwork. We have three  spots left! If you already turned in the form, you are in and I will be sharing a list with everyone's contact info to arrange carpooling. Volunteer forms and background checks are required to be a chaperone, so Mrs. Kauffman in the office will be checking to see who still needs to complete that paperwork and will send home the paperwork with your child after the break.                                                Happy Halloween! Here is the link  to see what the kids signed up to bring on Friday. Feel free to send anything in ahead of time. Just a reminder that our party is from 1:20-2:20 and the parade is at 3:15. Hope to see you there! A ziplock bag with math games was sent home on Friday. The hope is for kids to reinforce their math fact fluency. With a dry erase marker, kids can write right on the bag so it can be used again.
