February 14 - February 17

                                                       heart fireworks

We will be going outside Monday afternoon to celebrate our ledge reward & NAEP testing. Kids are welcome to dress warm and bring snow toys to play with. We will have hot chocolate too, so thanks to everyone who signed up to send in supplies! We only have cups left...

Just a reminder that kids should come to school with a water bottle, fully charged computer, and signed planner every day! There have been a lot of excuses lately for all three things on the list. Thanks for your help!!

Thursday will be our love activity. We are still in need of magazines that can be cut up to make collages. If you signed up to send in any s'mores items, feel free to send them in any time. Thank you! I will have a microwave in the room for this, so parent helpers would be great. The time is 1:30-2:15.

It has been taking a long time for kids to bundle up for recess. Reusable shopping bags make it much easier for kids to collect their gear, especially at the end of the day. It also helps if clothing is labeled. Unfortunately, the lockers are small and kids have to share this space.

Lastly, I am planning to donate some old books to a local place. If you have any old books, children or adult, I will gladly add them to my donation box. I am still deciding between donating to the SJ public library or a local non-profit up & coming animal rescue that I read about. More info to come...

Fourth Grade Swimming Information from Mr. Phaler: Permission slips went home Thursday, February 10th. They are due by this Thursday, February 17th.

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Your child will soon be participating in our third-grade water safety and swimming program (This program is traditionally held for 3rd graders, however, this program was suspended last year).  Classes will be held at the St. Joseph High School pool.  Students are transported to the pool on St. Joseph School buses, with teachers accompanying the classes.

Our water safety and swimming course offers instruction in survival swimming.  No individual is ever drown-proof.  We discuss various water-related emergencies as well as practical life-saving skills.

Classes will start on Wednesdays February 23, March 9, April 13, and April 20 for Lincoln and E.P. Clarke Schools, and Wednesdays April 27, May 11, May 18, and May 25 for Brown School.  Each class will meet for four days.

Your child will need a swimsuit, towel, plastic bag (for wet swimsuit and towel), and swim cap (if they want one).  Please put your child’s name on all of these items, so lost items can be returned.

Please fill out the slip that went home and return it by Thursday, February 17, 2022, for Lincoln E.P. Clarke Schools...April 22 for Brown Schools  If you know of any problem, physical or mental, that might interfere with your child’s participation in this program, please inform us.  All students are expected to participate in this unit.

Dates/Times 4th grade will be swimming Wednesday:  February 23, March 9, April 13, and April 20, 2022
